Trinity to state finals with 56-47 victory over Southwestern

No. 1 Trinity Advances to State Championship Game
Shamrocks Tame Southwestern 56-47
LEXINGTON, Ky. – No. 1 Trinity (34-3) advanced to the championship game of the 2012 PNC/KHSAA Sweet 16 ® at Rupp Arena with a 56-47 win over Southwestern.
It will be the first championship game appearance for the Shamrocks in program history.
Kentucky Mr. Basketball finalist Nathan Dieudonne had a game high 16 points and added seven rebounds in 23 minutes to lead the Shamrocks. Dieudonne hit all six of his two-point field goals and was 1-of-2 behind the arc after hitting a career best four three-point field goals on Friday against Clark County.
Trinity posted its 17th consecutive win, the second longest streak in program history, and have won 29 of their last 30 games. Trinity is now 31-1 against teams from the state of Kentucky this season.
The Shamrocks will play in the championship game of the 2012 PNC/KHSAA Sweet 16 ® at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are only available through www.ticketmaster.com and the Rupp Arena Box Office.
